Five Stars!! We’ve been journeying to Grand Marais for years, staying at various hotels and vacation rentals. The One0Eight beats them all! It is absolutely fabulous. The superb decor, beautiful woodwork and thoughtful layout create such a relaxing, enjoyable environment. The downtown location is wonderful as well (close but quiet). A part of me wants to keep quiet about this special rental home, so it will be available the next time I visit. But I will say that this small house is move-in ready. The craftsmanship of the remodel is excellent. The art is special. It has everything you want/need to make a vacation special. Oh, and it could hardly get any closer to downtown.

We enjoyed our stay at Linda & Dave’s well maintained and decorated bungalow in Grand Marais! We plan to stay there again when we travel from New Ulm to be at our favorite vacation destination. It is located close to the lake and within walking distance to anywhere you’d like to go to downtown. The kitchen has everything you need to do your own cooking and clean up afterwards! I fortunately got to meet Linda who was a gracious host and told me about the history of 108. The place is impeccably clean and walking distance to downtown Grand Marais. The wood crafting and cabinet making is top rate as well as the artwork on the walls. All family designed and crafted. Updated bungalow and plenty of indoor lighting. This was my 2nd stay at oneOeight. It is such a lovely bungalow furnished with fine handbuilt furniture and other artwork made by the family. I immediately feel calm and comfortable when staying here.

I was in town for a weekend course at North House. 108 was a very convenient location for local restaurants and shopping. It is a very well done small house. It is clean and well thought out. I will be back!

This is a beautiful, simple, lovingly restored spot. Park your car and walk or bike everywhere in Grand Marais. Super comfortable and great kitchen, bathroom. And we love that there is no TV!! Enjoy reading under the light from the beautiful lamps.

We found it was thoughtfully designed for travelers and also perfectly located for accessing Grand Marais on foot. It was clean and had everything we needed. oneOeight was a great place to stay. Loved the amazing furniture and creative use of typical "dead" space It was very conveniently located, walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go in town. My only suggestion would be putting in a room darkening shade in the window above the bed as the bedroom was not very dark.

The cleanest and most relaxing space we have ever stayed in. The location of 108 is great! I loved being close enough to walk to class at North House Folk School, and it wasn’t too far for my husband to enjoy a day of skiing at Lutsen. We will absolutely stay here again!

Our jaws dropped as soon as we walked into this charming little cottage. It was open and airy and so beautifully decorated. So many North Shore vacation rentals fall victim to tacky moose and buffalo plaid aesthetic. Not 108-- a tasteful Hugge vibe with beautiful craftsmanship and stunning artwork from the owner's family. It is a beautiful place. It is very clean and well furnished. Everything about the cottage is done well. There isn't anything out of place or not well cared for. One of the best things about the stay is Linda/host, the artistic furniture and the art on the walls. Lovely.

We loved our stay at oneOeight! Perfectly located to walk to restaurants, stores and the waterfront, it's also beautifully designed inside and out, very clean and comfortable. The hosts are very helpful. We couldn't have asked for more, and plan to stay there again.

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful bungalow for four nights in the middle of winter. We could not have been happier with our experience! Dave and Linda have created a beautiful space with amazing attention to comfort and detail. We highly recommend this rental if you want to be close to everything in town and yet feel like you have gotten away to a lovely little hidden gem.

We had such an enjoyable stay at oneOeight for 4 nights last week! It is as cute as the photos and even cozier feeling! No musty or empty feeling, but instead, it felt like a friend's home, tastefully decorated with just the right amount of northern charm. There were plenty of towels, good heat control, nice blinds on all the windows and clean wood floors with cozy rugs. I highly recommend it for 1 or 2 adults and possible a child or baby. There is an off street parking spot, and the harbor is 2 blocks away, as is grocery store, and various shops and espresso bar is a 5 minute walk.

This cute little bungalow is just right for a getaway to Grand Marais. A perfect location in walking distance of all the wonders that Grand Marais offers! A hop, skip, and a jump to the Gunflint Trail and a myriad of state parks. I have stayed at oneOeight three times and I look forward to many more opportunities in the future. Lina andDave are wonderful hosts and I have felt as welcomed by them as a favorite family member would be. I highly recommend this treasure of the north shore with it's comfortable amenities, warm atmosphere, exquisite decor, and proximity to all you would want and need. Five stars!

We have been a guest at one0eight about 5-6 times now and each time we have found a wonderfully quiet, clean, and relaxing little house. Its' a gem!

Love this spot. Have stayed 4 or 5 times now and it's as clean and updated as it was in year 1. Great location for town or as a jumping off point for the area. Just don't tell too many people - I want to keep some times available for us to rent it! :)

oneOeight is a cozy, clean and thoughtfully designed place. It is spacious with windows that open to fresh breeze from the lake. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal or make breakfast. It is centrally located; the Grand Marais Art Colony, North House Folk School and the lake are all within a short walk away. It is a perfect home away from home. Linda is wonderful and welcoming!--and I am looking forward to staying here again the next time I am in town.

We wished we had booked longer than a 2 day stay. The cottage is very cute and super clean. Checking in was no hassle at all with code given ahead of time. It has everything a person needs although we only used the fridge & coffee pot. Has a cute sitting area in the back yard but really no view but that was ok. The cottage has off the street parking and is within walking distance to everything downtown. We even saw the fireworks from the harbor at this cottage. There is no a/c so next time we will bring a fan.

Immaculate and well-designed. A spare Scandinavian aesthetic with quality crafted furniture made by the owner, as well as gallery-quality woodblock prints by the owners' sons. Very quiet, but in the middle of everything. Park you car and leave it. Or drive 10 minutes to fantastic hiking and views of the northern lights and the harbor. Exceptionally well-equipped and organized. Each time I needed something, whether it was a flashlight, a cheese grater or extra blanket, just a moment of searching yielded what I needed. Terrific WIFI, so did not miss a radio or TV with my laptop along. Great water pressure, new bathroom and kitchen fixtures and appliances. Comfortable furniture, great bed and fresh new towels and bedding. Well well-equipped kitchen with some staples like salt, pepper and cooking oil. Very convenient to NHFS for students. If the Hwy 61 reconstruction project is going on when you are considering booking, don't be concerned. A simple detour gets you to 108, and I wasn't disturbed by any noise from the work at all. This would be a great place for a longer term stay but I was only there 3 nights. The owners were attentive but not intrusive. Very much worth the price.

We had a great stay at oneOeight. The location is just a block or two from downtown Grand Marais, the house is newly remodeled and very clean and comfortable. Dave and Linda were very helpful and I am sure we will return.

This is our second time staying here. We love the coziness and how clean and well kept it is. The location is perfect, being close to shops, restaurants, the Gunflint Trail and 61. The furniture and decor are very well made and give a sense of home. We will be back!

Exactly as described by owners and reviews! Clean and had everything we needed. Perfect get-a-way place with many options, even during COVID-19, from take out options, patios to eat on, or eat in or shop with masks. We felt very comfortable in so many ways. Speaking of comfortable, the bed was super comfortable which is important for any overnight stay!

We just spent two Peaceful and Relaxing nights in this wonderful accommodation. OneOeight is a clean, comfortable and inviting setting. It was the best part of our trip to Upshore. The bed is comfortable and the cottage has everything you need. You wouldn’t go wrong with this immaculately decorated and “great value” stay!

This was my second stay at oneOeight, and I loved it even more! It truly is the perfect place for me to stay when I come to Grand Marais. It's within walking distance to the lake, shops, co-op, and Betsy Bowen's studio! The bungalow is truly a work of art, and I love looking at the built-ins, lovely woodwork throughout the house, and the unique art on the walls. It's also absolutely spotless! I find your place so peaceful and relaxing. After hiking and camping for a few days, I found myself looking forward to a hot shower in the beautiful bathroom and a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed! oneOeight has become part of my annual trip to the North Shore, so I'll be back! 108 is a great place to stay when visiting the North Shore. The place was spotless; we felt as if we were the first guests to stay here. Dave is a meticulous craftsman and it shows in every aspect of this quality arts & crafts styled "home." A stocked kitchen lets you prepare any meal your vacation heart desires. Or not! You can walk 5 minutes to any restaurant in Grand Marais. It is all in the family: the beautiful artwork echoes the north shore. Many if not all, are contributions from their sons. Everything about this place is excellent and suggests, "come back!" And we will. Thanks very much!

This was our second stay at this sweet little house. The decor is simple and beautiful befitting the bungalow style and the built-ins are both lovely and functional. Linda was quick to respond to our queries. The house is an easy walk from every place you want to go in Grand Marais. We love it here!

One Oeight was the perfect place to stay during my recent visit to Grand Marais. It is within easy walking distance to everything - the lake, the lighthouse, shops, the Co-op for groceries, and art studios. The bungalow has been beautifully renovated, with custom built-ins, and beautiful woodwork throughout. Added bonuses were the hand made lamps, tables, and the prints hanging in each room. It was like staying in an art gallery! There is no TV, but I didn't miss it at all. There is so much to see and do in Grand Marais, not to mention the hiking possibilities near by, that I was too tired to even think about watching TV. Besides, wifi is available so you can easily stay in touch with the world (should you even want to!). My stay was really relaxing, and I found this place to be very peaceful. I'll definitely be back!!

We enjoyed a week here while taking classes at North House Folk School. The private off-street parking spot was convenient. We were able to walk everywhere easily. The co-op nearby allowed us to pick up a few groceries we forgot. Easy to prepare breakfast and coffee in the morning. The BBQ grill was a nice bonus and allowed us to enjoy dinner in. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom had adequate storage. The bathroom was well thought out and had plenty of luxurious towels. We will definitely be back!

This house was very well-kept and in a great location. It had everything we needed. Can't wait to book it again on our next trip there!

This bungalow was the perfect place for our weekend trip to Grand Marais. The location is convenient for Grand Marais and nearby parks, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is full of all the utensils and pots you could use. But it's also cozy and comfortable if you want to stay inside for a day. We very much hope to make a return trip and we'll recommend it widely.

This wonderful bungalow is barely two blocks from the water of the harbor, so we had fun exploring the shops and harbor as well as ranging out on the trails to see fall colors. The house is recently renovated with great attention to its Arts and Crafts heritage. The furnishings are beautifully crafted by the owner. Everything is clean, comfortable, new. We loved it!

OneOEight was perfect! One block from downtown, beautiful, clean decor, totally equipped with basic needs, and the kindest touch was a totally child friendly environment (down to baby spoons)!

The stay at 108 was wonderful. It more than met our expectations. the simplistic decor was just what was needed as a get-away from the chaos of the world. We loved not having TV and being able to just be together. The house was clean and so so inviting. I would definitely put it high on my list of great places to stay!
